🚨 BREAKING: US Citizen Dies in Entebbe Police Cells – Questions Pile Up

Uganda and the US are both digging into what went down after Eric Nkusi, an American of Burundian descent died in custody at Entebbe Main Police Station.

Nkusi was picked up late July for allegedly overstaying his visa. But while locked up, witnesses say he looked seriously unwell. Sources claim he begged officers for heroin, warning, “I could die without it.” He didn’t get it.

💬 “A suspect’s life is still a life. The uniform carries a duty of care, not a license to neglect.” – Police accountability advocate

By the next morning, Aug 1, Nkusi was found unresponsive in his cell less than 24 hours after his arrest. His body was moved to Mulago City Mortuary for a post-mortem to figure out exactly what happened.

Now, internal investigations are on, and some officers could face the Police Disciplinary Court. The US Embassy has sent a team to Kampala to get answers.

This tragedy is reigniting talk about how detainees are treated in Uganda especially those with medical emergencies.

⚡ Stay tuned – the autopsy results could change everything.
