U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened legal action against Grammys host Trevor Noah following a joke the comedian made during the 2026 Grammy Awards. Noah’s quip referenced Trump, former President Bill Clinton, and the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s private island prompting Trump to call the comment “false and defamatory” in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Trump slammed the ceremony as “virtually unwatchable” and criticized Noah’s performance, calling him a “talentless” host and saying he plans to send his lawyers to sue him for plenty of money. Trump also denied ever visiting Epstein’s island and urged Noah to “get his facts straight.”
The backlash highlights ongoing tensions between the president and media personalities, with Trump accusing comedians and networks of spreading misleading narratives. Noah’s team has not yet publicly responded to the threat.
