Renowned Ugandan singer Cindy Sanyu has opened up about her early interactions with fellow artist Sheebah Karungi, revealing that she recognized Sheebah’s talent long before the world did.
In a recent interview, Cindy shared how her belief in Sheebah’s abilities inspired her to write the singer’s first song. “This is why I wrote her first song, because I saw the potential. I could see that she was a star. I knew that it was inside of her. I knew it, and that is why I wrote the song. I never would have invested my time and energy into that. I saw it,” Cindy said.
She emphasized that her decision to work with Sheebah was not by chance but a deliberate effort to nurture a rising star. According to Cindy, her instincts proved right as Sheebah went on to become one of the biggest names in Uganda’s music industry.
This revelation sheds light on the early stages of Sheebah’s career and highlights Cindy’s role in shaping one of the most celebrated female artists in East Africa.
