Kampala, Uganda — Ugandan pop star Spice Diana has broken her silence following a viral video showing her involved in what appeared to be a boda boda attack, sparking widespread speculation and online debate.
The footage, which circulated rapidly across social media platforms, showed the singer in a tense encounter with a group of boda boda riders along one of Kampala’s busy streets. While some fans believed the scene was genuine, others suggested it was a publicity stunt ahead of a new music project.
However, Spice Diana has now come forward to clarify the situation, insisting that the incident was real and frightening, not a planned act.
“I was shocked and scared. What happened wasn’t a stunt. It was a misunderstanding that got out of hand,” Spice Diana explained in a video statement posted to her official Instagram page. “People should stop spreading false narratives before knowing the truth.”
According to the singer, the commotion started after a minor road altercation involving her car and a boda boda rider. The situation quickly escalated as onlookers gathered, leading to the chaotic scene captured in the viral clip.
Spice Diana further urged authorities to improve road safety and called on fans to exercise caution and empathy when sharing sensitive videos online.
“We’re all human. Sometimes accidents or misunderstandings happen, but turning them into jokes online can be hurtful,” she added.
The singer’s response has drawn mixed reactions—while many fans expressed sympathy, others still questioned the timing of the incident, noting it coincided with her recent music releases.
Nonetheless, Spice Diana reaffirmed her focus on positivity and music, assuring fans that she remains committed to spreading love and resilience through her art.
