Former UK Prime Minister with 1 month Reign Now a Case Study for Historic Poor Leadership

Truss  quickly turned into a case study in poor leadership.

She overestimated her abilities and assumed somewhat glibly that repeated pronouncements and soundbites are an appropriate means of demonstrating leadership. Her reliance on the oversimplified free-market philosophy, which motivates her but did not persuade others, is excessive. Exciting think-tank theory  collided with unpredictable reality.

She had succumbed to the myths surrounding Margaret Thatcher’s tenure in government, accepting the obvious narrative of her steadfast attitude while ignoring the more nuanced reality of how malleable and flexible she could be.

Above all, Truss has failed to “confront the ugly reality” of her circumstance, a step that is thought to be essential for the long run.
