Taylor Swift did not qualify for the 2026 Grammy Awards because her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, was released on October 3, 2025 — more than a month after the eligibility cutoff date of August 30, 2025. The Recording Academy’s rules state that only music released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025, can be considered for that year’s Grammys. Since Swift did not release any singles or qualifying projects within that window, she was automatically excluded from nomination. Her new album will instead be eligible for the 2027 Grammy Awards, meaning her absence from the 2026 nominations was due to timing rather than a snub
